LOCAL SEO · SCOTLAND & UK · 28-DAY ROLLING

Local SEO that has to earn its place every month.

A retainer for businesses that depend on being found by local customers. No twelve-month contract, no lock-in — 28-day rolling terms, which means the results keep you or nothing does. Every engagement starts the same way: with a diagnosis, not a pitch.

What it covers

The work that decides whether local customers find you.

Local SEO isn't one thing. It's the accumulation of signals that decide whether Google shows your business to someone nearby who needs what you do — and whether they pick you when it does. The retainer works those signals, month on month:

  • Your Google Business Profile — the single biggest lever in local search. Optimised, maintained, and protected against the volatility and suspension risks that quietly take businesses off the map.
  • Your local rankings, measured properly — visibility sampled across your actual trading area, not a single vanity check from one postcode.
  • Your website's local footing — location and service pages that are substantive enough to rank, structured data that tells Google what and where you are, and the technical hygiene underneath it.
  • Your citations and consistency — your name, address and phone agreeing with each other everywhere they appear, because disagreement costs trust with Google before a customer ever sees you.
  • Your reviews — velocity and response, benchmarked against the businesses ranking above you.
  • Reporting you can actually read — what moved, what we did, what's next. Plain findings, monthly, no vanity metrics.

The retainer is scoped to your business and your area. What it never includes: padding, tasks for the sake of an invoice line, or work we can't connect to your visibility.

The framework

A documented framework, not a monthly guess.

Most retainers are a bucket of hours. What fills the bucket depends on who's having a busy week. Ours isn't built that way.

Every engagement runs on the same documented delivery framework: diagnose first, prioritise by what's structural rather than what's noisy, ship the work, measure against the baseline, repeat. The framework is written down. The process is the same whether it's month one or month fourteen — which is why the work doesn't drift, and why the reporting can be honest about what moved and what didn't.

It's also why the diagnosis comes first. The Audit — a fixed-scope, fixed-price assessment of your local search position — is the front door to the retainer. It tells both of us, in writing, what we'd be working on before you commit to anything ongoing. No discovery phase billed by the hour, no proposal built on assumptions. If the Audit says Google can't realistically deliver for your business, we tell you that instead — and there's no retainer to sell you.

We run the same systems we sell. This site passes the audit framework we apply to clients; the reporting pipelines that produce your monthly numbers are the same infrastructure running in production across the operation. If we don't pass our own test, we don't ship it.

Supporting: PPC

Ads that support the organic work — not a substitute for it.

Some businesses need paid search alongside Local SEO: a new location with no history, a seasonal push, a market where the map results alone don't carry enough volume. We run Google Ads for retainer clients where it genuinely earns its keep — managed and reported through the same pipelines as everything else, with spend accountable to enquiries rather than clicks.

What we won't do is sell you ads to paper over an organic problem. If your visibility is broken, ad spend rents attention the fix would have earned. The Audit tells you which situation you're in before anyone spends anything.

The terms

28-day rolling. That's the whole contract story.

No twelve-month minimum, no lock-in, no exit clause you need a solicitor to read. The retainer runs on 28-day rolling terms: if it isn't working, you leave, and you keep every report and every piece of work done to that point.

We set it up this way deliberately. Long contracts protect agencies from their own results. Rolling terms mean the work has to justify itself every four weeks — which is exactly the pressure it should be under.

  • Scoped to your business and trading area, agreed before we start.
  • Monthly reporting in plain language — findings, actions, next steps.
  • Everything produced is yours to keep, whenever you leave.
  • 28-day notice, either direction, no penalty.
Where we are

A real business, in a real place, doing local search.

Positive Internet Marketing works from a real office in Perth — King James VI Business Centre, Friarton Rd — not a rented mailbox or a brand front for an offshore team. We serve businesses across Scotland and the UK; the work is delivered remotely wherever you are, and if you're within reach of Perth, we can sit down in person.

That matters for a plain reason: local search is what we do to be found ourselves. The methods on this page aren't theory we resell — they're how a Scottish business competes in the same results our clients do. And it matters for an unglamorous reason too: you know where we are. Accountability has an address.

Start with a diagnosis

The retainer starts with the Audit.

Every engagement begins with a fixed-scope Audit of your local search position — a written report, a straight recommendation, and 45 minutes to talk it through. If you go on to a retainer, you'll both know exactly what the work is, because it's written down in front of us.
